Crane Superstructure

The KUHN System for the realization of truck-crane superstructures involves three project phases in sixteen stages and more than five hundred individual work steps

Phase 1: Analysis of the existing requirements – A precise definition of future tasks, i.e. what kind of service is required or planned?

Phase 2: A calculation system that was jointly developed with universities over a period of many years. The system is used to complete all the necessary detailed calculations and co-ordinating work for stability, utilization rate, torsion and flexure of the auxiliary frame, useful load, travelling characteristics and verifying that all statutory regulations have been fulfilled, thereby assuring complete safety for all KUHN-Ladetechnik clients.

In Phase 3: The production of the superstructure project - It is essential to adhere to the requisite superstructure guidelines as well as the specifications of the crane manufacturer, the hook and lifting tackle manufacturer and the truck producer.  The metal blanks are defined on a CAD basis and produced on computer-controlled laser machines. The use of premium, fine-grain constructional steel, and all welding work in keeping with the EN Standard 287-1.2, are further points that clearly distinguish a KUHN superstructure from all others.

After all crane functions have been finely adjusted and, together with the superstructure components of the truck, verified and approved by the TÜV Official Technical Inspectorate, the entire unit is handed over to the client in a turn-key finish, and the future operating personnel receive professional instructions.
